Service Delivery Models in Nephrology Genetic Counseling

Renal genetics is an emerging and rapidly evolving area of both genetics and nephrology practice, with relatively few specialists and growing demand for expertise. This webinar will provide a brief overview of nephrogenetics and highlight how genetic counselors are contributing to care delivery in this expanding specialty. Learners will hear perspectives from both a commercial laboratory genetic counselor and a clinical genetic counselor, with discussion of distinct service delivery models in nephrology genetics. Topics will include lab-led genetic information sessions, clinical practice models in renal genetics clinics, and examples of how different programs are addressing patient care, access, and workflow in this developing field.
